Architecture Translation
Architecture Translation
Architecture has been an old science that is known and applied
in various countries for constructing various structures like
churches, houses, bridges, palaces and other type of building
constructions.
Architecture translation involves translation of information
related to field of architecture. It may involve translation of
the text on architecture or translation of various monograms and
designs. The British and Roman architecture of old days have
been famous throughout the world.
The countries that were ruled by the British few hundred years
before even today have several buildings which highlight the
architectural skills of the British as these buildings in stone
masonry still stand erect even after few hundreds of years. They
posses the same elegance as they had when they were constructed
hundreds or years before.
In modern times when the corporate in construction businesses
like all other businesses have been crossing various
geographical boundaries the need of architecture translation is
getting evolved to play important role in construction business
globally.
Today in order to cut on cost and win in the competitive world
architecture drafting has been outsourced to locations where skilled architects at lower fees
could get work done. When this trend has been setup the
information for the architect for designing the structures
sometimes needs to be translated to the native language of the
architect or some universal language like English.
For e.g. if a Japanese construction business needs a structural
design or plan for constructing a huge project and it selects an
Indian architect for designing the plan than the information
required for making the plan either should be in English
language or the native Indian language. This information for the
Indian architect must include the guidelines of the local
government authorities in Japan for making the expected
structural design. Such government guidelines are again in the
native language (in this case Japanese) and hence need to be
translated to the language acceptable by the architect sitting
in India.
The role of the translator doing architecture translation does
not stop over here but the translator again has to translated
the documents associated with the design into Japanese language
so that the plan gets accepted at the office of the local
government authorities in Japan.
The translator providing architecture translation necessarily
has to be an architect with multilingual skills because it is
impossible to understand the technicalities of architecture if
the translator doesn’t have knowledge about the field. The
translator has to be very careful while translating any
monograms or symbols that are included in the design of a
structure as the monogram or symbol. If the translator
misunderstands them due to lack of knowledge of the local
culture than it may result into hurting sentiments of the client
that needs architecture translation done.
