This handbook of astronomy was revised and translated from Arabic language to Sanskrit language in the seventeenth century.

Bu due to the Arabic influences on the content of the translated handbook the names and terminology was not adaptable to the Indian culture and so the translated handbook was unacceptable in India. Without losing heart the same translator called Nityananda formulated new ways of calculations that could be understood by Indian astronomers.

in learning astronomy and also propagating its information to the common people. These Islamic rulers had build observatories to specially study the astronomy of the Universe. Later on the Islamic rulers along with the Indian mathematicians created new formulas for calculations of the planetary positions.
